Enjoying rainy waterfalls

Western Ghats in Maharashtra are amongst the worlds best for Monsoon Romantic travel escapades. Khandala, Lonavala, Malshej Ghat, etc. are some exotic places which young couples, families and people of all cadre throng to enjoy fun times.

I recently had an opportunity to experience the beauty of Malshej Ghat near Pune. Malshej Ghat was one of the best place I have visited during monsoon. The ghats were simply mind blowing and I had have never seen so much greenery in your life atone single place.

The magic of rains added to the overall beauty of this gorgeous place,

the birds flying around made it more scenic,

small crabs, monkeys, flies on flowers and frogs enjoying the rains like me made it more musical and

the view of the white streams of water flowing between the greenery on the mountains was just awesome.

Malshej Ghat is a mountain pass in the Western Ghats range and the site is nestled in the lofty rugged hills. The place is about 2200 feet above sea level and is categorised as a Hillside Hamlet. It is one of the most favourite monsoon getaway for locals of Pune and Mumbai.

Since Malshej ghat is not far from Pune and Mumbai, the place has only a few deluxe accommodation options. MTDC Flamingo resort where I stayed is  the best deluxe accommodations with all facilities. Since the area is at a considerable distance from a small town, there are not many posh restaurants and shopping malls. So you are left with you or your partner amongst the greens and the monsoon water falls.

The monsoon water falls are the beauties of the area in the hilly regions. During months of June-Sept Malshej Ghat comes alive when innumerable waterfalls abound the area. The area is renowned for its spontaneous waterfalls which form due to the torrential downpour it gets. Various waterfalls from small up to the huge ones are really worth to see and many are right next to the highway.

It is an awesome place to visit. Cool, breezy and silent. Few food joint options are available. It’s more of a place for couples, and the best time is rainy season
