Courtyard by Marriott – Mumbai

Just 3-4 days before my planned arrival in Mumbai, the hotel reservations were rescheduled. I was worried, but as soon as I walked up to the reception desk through the open lobby at Courtyard  Mumbai, International Airport, my anxieties faded away. The sweet lady behind the counter addressed me with my name with her sweetest smile and I instantly realized that I am in good hands. My check in was done at a lightening speed, in fact everything was ready for me as they knew my time of arrival.

Mr Anang Chaturvedi, Director Sales & Mktg. immediately arrived on the spot and welcomed me. He later told me that the USP of his hotel was this friendly and personal service to every client checking in at the hotel. Let me mention here that the checkout was equally fast and simple. This is one service that I have not seen being performed so efficiently anywhere else. It was even better than the express check-in and checkout service provided by some luxury hotels.

Courtyard Marriott, Mumbai is one of the premier destinations in the airport area for business and leisure travellers. It recently won the TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence for Most Preferred Emerging Hotel in India. Located in the central business hub of North Mumbai, the hotel is accessible from both Mumbai airports. Its in fact a synonym for luxury and convenience when it comes to a hotel.  One feels at ease the moment he walks into the open lobby with abundant natural daylight.

This family-friendly hotel proved an ideal getaway for me. First thing about this fantabulous property was its location, just one km from airport, and the rooms were spacious and everything about it was classy. I stayed in a suite which was located at 8th floor with a pool view and city view benefits. Thoroughly enjoyed my undisturbed peaceful stay and indulged in activities at the hotel at my own leisure. I thoroughly enjoyed my dips in the swimming pool, the fitness center and the delicious food at the Hotel’s trademark Thai restaurant Red Zen and MOMO serving exquisite international buffet. I also liked the lounge cum bar cum night club – The Ark at the hotel.

It was a Friday night and the Ark was turned into a night club in the evening with a Live DJ night. Loads and loads of youngsters from the neighbouring areas thronged the hotel and were seen enjoying the music and drinks.

The hotel has beautiful rooms and traditional comfortable Marriott feather beds. The luxury suite that I was staying at has everything, a comfortable bed, a flat TV with multiple channels, ironing board, bathrobes, slippers and essential toiletries. It was enough to pamper me and make me want to stay longer. The hotel is affordable with basic tariff plans plus weekend packages and is very well priced in comparison to others. However it is their special weekend packages that are even more attractive.

The hotel is an ideal place for big corporates to hold their meetings and events. It’s the most convenient hotel option, if you’re hosting an event in Andheri East. You can make use of the unique function space and experienced planning services of the hotel staff here. Any business traveler staying here is thrilled with the location and helpful amenities like high-speed Internet access, as well as a spacious work space in every hotel room.  Event facilities include conference center and conference space, many indoor and outdoor meeting room space, 24-hour business center with a meeting rooms.

The dining USP of the hotel is its Thai restaurant, Red Zen serving traditional and authentic Thai cuisine and the food at MOMO (Modern Dining, Modern Living) cafe is full of surprises. Red Zen is being looked after by Chef Kung, lovingly called Mumma. She is a charming Thai lady who uses her expertise to serve you the most authentic Thai food. Most of the dinners they do at MOMO is a buffet spread.  Its easier in a buffet to try out a lot of dishes, and their dessert spread was huge with more than twenty delicacies including Indian desserts and also international ones.

Besides this the MOMO2 is perfect for guests on the go. If you are heading for a meeting, or out to explore Mumbai, and you want food on the go, you can have packed pastries, sandwiches, and salads at this café.

Overall Courtyard Marriott scores maximum recommendations as compared to other hotels in the area. For me the Thai food and the personalised attention that a guest gets here were the plus points that surely will bring me back here the next time I am in Mumbai.

  1. Looks very good. I’m looking forward to staying at the JW Marriott when I’m in Mumbai next time. But the Courtyard looks not bad either. Thanks for the review! 🙂
