The two paged menu features classics like Russian Salad, Lemon coriander soup, Beli Ram ka samosa, Tamil chicken chettinad, Lal Maas etc, and many many more innovative dishes. Our meals started with Patta Chaat, a very very tasty starter to start with. It reminded me of some lovely street foods we have in old Delhi. Next came the BLVD Mushroom Bowl. Slightly spicy, the balls were perfect and the chocolate sauce along with the dip added the necessary flavours. Le Carni Mozzarella sticks served with potato fries were the next to follow, but it was very high on the green chilies. I wish the chef cuts down on the spices. I would have preferred my Mozzarella sticks a little blander. We still were on with starters and had Hasrat-E-Tamanna (Paneer Tikka). I would also have liked to give this a miss – as the paneer was not properly marinated and lacked flavours.
As usual with every food review lunch, we were almost full by the time we finished our appetizers. So we just ordered one dish from the main course and it was unanimously decided to go in for Subz Dum Biryani. Yummm – was the verdict, it was a perfectly blended Biryani, perfectly dum cooked amalgamation of fine basmati rice with saffron and other spices and was served with raita. We relished the Biryani and Recommend it to everyone going to Boulevard for a full meal.
Before starting our meals we had tried two of the smoothies that they serve; they were Chocolate, and Mango n Coconut. Both were yoghurt based and were amazing. My personal favourite would be the Mango and Coconut smoothie with distinctive flavours of both the fruits.
I always am a great lover of desserts and normally prefer having at least one after all my meals. The Menu did show afew options in the dessert section, but only the Chocolate Brownie with Ice Cream was available. We greedily finished up the perfect soft brownie paired with vanilla ice cream and were left asking for more.
Though there were some hiccups with starters – the great ambiance and the blissful Biryani is surely going to pull me back once again in near future and I hope to savour more of the delectable culinary delights at Boulevard.
