I have always been a great fan of Hard Rock Café. The first one I visited was in USA; New York City way back in the early 1990s. Ever since I have been an ardent fan of the brand and never miss an opportunity to visit one at a city I am visiting (of course only at cities where the brand has a café or a hotel).
Hard Rock Café (HRC) has a presence at 174 venues in 53 countries, including 138 cafes and 16 hotels. Hard Rock is also known for its collectible fashion and music-related merchandise.
In Delhi too, I have been to the café at Saket many a times. The brand is known for their service, first class service, and the service at the Delhi outlet is also outstanding. A great décor, and amazing ambiance is what you need while visiting any fine dining place. And if the place also has some great music then it’s a plus point. And HRC has all of this; live Music, Retro nights, Karaoke Nights, Concerts and an Amazing Menu.
When we visited the Saket outlet at the DLF Place, the smiling young lady at the entrance welcomed us and escorted us inside the magical, musical world. There were huge musical instruments mounted on the walls. Being a Friday evening it was the Retro night and the high wooden stage with seating area all around was all set up.
Just like the ambiance the drinks and food at HRC is also amazing. We were here for a tasting session of the Sizzlers Fest. Well, yes HRC is hosting “Turn Up The Sizzle” all through February. Combinations of lip-smacking sizzlers; bubbly cocktails and mock-tails and a chance to be the first ones to visit the Hard Rock Hotel in Goa is on offer throughout February.
Being teetotalers and vegetarians, we focused ourselves on various veggy combinations that were on offer. For drinks we had Berrylicious and Mango Berry Cooler and chilled ourselves. The tastes and flavours of mango and the berries were characteristic and the drinks tasted awesome.
For Sizzlers, we tried all the four varieties that were offered in the menu. We started with Paneer Tikka Skillet, served with a makhani gravy, butter cilantro rice and kuchumber. The tandoori spiced pieces of grilled paneer on a bed of Indian veg were served smoking hot on our table. The fragrance and the sizzling that came along with the skillets made us loose all our patience and we finished up the platter in minutes. The paneer was delectable to the core.
We then tried the other three varieties too. First it was the Italian Mafia Skillet, a sizzler which had crispy spinach and cottage cheese croquette served on a bed of grilled chimichurri veg. with caprese salad, spaghetti aglio e olio and cherry tomato ragout. I would say this sizzler totally bowled me over and was undoubtedly the best of all the four that we tried.
The Lebanese Fajita Skillet followed. It was a skillet of crispy falafel bites on fajita veg served with flour tortillas creamy tahini sauce, mixed cheese & sour veg. Last but not the least, we had the Asian BBQ Grilled Cottage Cheese. It was an Asian grilled cottage cheese served with Thai curry sauce on a sizzling bed of asian veg. served with garlic fried rice and Asian BBQ slaw.
For the non-veg lovers they had varieties of skillet combinations of chicken and prawns. Seeing my fellow bloggers relishing these skillets, I was sure that these must also be awesome just like our vegetarian varieties.
In between some precious moments during our relishing session, we did have a chance to chat with Ms. Akriti Jain, who briefed us about the Turn Up the Sizzle fest. She was joined by Mr. Vikram Varma, AVP – Marketing, JSM Corporation, who gave us more information. He informed us about the Hard Rock Cafe and how it has been the first choice of people of all ages who love good food, drinks and varied music performances. He further said that Sizzle Festival is one of their annual promotion event. And in 2016, the year when India saw the first ever Hard Rock Hotel open up in Goa, they are offering 14 lucky couples a chance to spend two nights and three day at Goa.
Well friends, the smoking stuff served on our tables for over two hours just made us go mad, and we stopped only when our taste buds started pleading us to stop. It was a thoroughly satisfying meal that me and my colleague had at HRC. The Turn up the Sizzle is on till the end of the month, so make sure you enjoy your DATE during this love season with your beloved and SIZZLE his/her hearts.
