We now live in the modern era where the roadside chai wallah is a big NO-NO now, and we were looking into joints like Café Coffee Day, Barista etc. But these were coffee joints and the longings or a sweet cup of strong ginger and elaichi flavoured tea was still unfulfilled. Fortunately we now have few Chai joints come up in the metro cities. Chai Point is one of the pioneers in the Chai world today and recently they opened up their flagship outlet in Delhi NCR area at the mall of India, Noida.
At this outlet they are serving chai in a sit down ambience. Specialty infused chais like Rose, Kashmiri Kahwa, Nilgiri Frost, Spiced Mango Iced Chai, Paan Shake, Tiramisu Shake, and Dum Cloud (Persian chai served latte style or cappuccino chai). Snacks served at this outlet include Chicken fain biscuit pizza, Soya chaap corn fain, Butter chicken bajra Samosa, Bedmi aloo chana Samosa, Haleemi oats mast dibbi, Pao bhaji oats mast dibbi.
It all started with an idea that founder Amuleek Singh Bijral had during his daily ritual of a chai-break. Given that every working professional had to rely on nondescript roadside stalls with questionable water supply and quality of ingredients for their daily fix, he decided to modernise the tea drinking experience to fuel the work days of Indians around the country. From the ingredients used and mode of packaging to supply chain systems, in-store training and store designs, Chai Point believes in delivering an authentic, natural and high-quality experience to its customers.
Chai Point, India’s largest tea retail chain brings the perfectly brewed cup of chai made with fresh, natural ingredients to offices and working professionals around the country. With over 90 stores, a popular chai-on-call delivery service and a chai-at-work service designed for corporate, Chai Point is revolutionising the way that chai is consumed in India. Beginning with the first pilot micro hub set up in Bangalore in April 2010, Chai Point has rapidly grown to become the go-to brand for a perfectly brewed cup of chai with over 1.5 lakh cups of chai sold every day.
The tea market in India is astounding with an estimated 911 million kilograms of chai consumed every year and valued at Rs 33,000 crores. With no single organised player in the market, Chai Point targets white-collar workers across the country who are comfortable with technology and love the age-old experience of a cup of chai. Besides the mobile app which enables subscriptions, chai@work that serves corporates and chai-on-call, Chai Point has outlets in Bangalore, Delhi-NCR, Pune, Mumbai and will soon be expanding to Hyderabad and a host of other cities.
Since its inception, Chai Point has set a standard of striving constantly to innovate and has adopted principles and practices that improve the quality of the chai experience not just for its customers but also for local communities and the planet. Combining innovation, quality, customer satisfaction and sustainability, Chai Point is a pioneer in adopting green business practices.
Chai Point prides itself on the quality of its ingredients and sources high quality produce and equipment to brew the perfect cup of chai. From exclusive partnerships with estates in Assam, Darjeeling and Nilgiris for tea leaves that are authentic and free of artificial colours or flavouring, to sourcing fresh ginger and lemon and even ensuring the quality of water used to make chai, Chai Point believes in taking care of every detail.
Chai Point’s one-of-a-kind delivery service, Chai-on-Call brought with it a path breaking, core innovation – the heat-retaining disposable flask. Designed painstakingly to meet highest quality standards, the flask which comes in Uni (350 ml), Mini (500 ml) and 1 litre variants, retains heat for 45-60 minutes. Furthermore, despite being a use-and-throw flask, all five layers of the pouch were approved for food industry usage with the innermost layer being certified free of harmful BPAs.
Chai Point only uses sulphurless sugar in its outlets. Chai Point has also introduced to reflect its ethos as a green business by composting the used tea leaves in its various outlets.
