“Beautiful City” by OPPO

Recently OPPO, one of the leading brands in global technology organised a Corporate Social Responsibility campaign – “Beautiful City”. Three of leading Bollywood celebrities namely, Parineeti Chopra, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ayushmann Khurrana were roped in for the initiative. OPPO plans to expand its CSR activity to other major towns and also to the rural areas of the country at a later stage. They have started this noble cause from three major metros of the country – Delhi NCR, Mumbai, and Bangalore.

The campaign by OPPO aims to highlight that the beauty of a city lies within the hands of its residents and all it takes to keep the city looking pleasing and clean is a little effort. By associating with various NGOs across the three cities, OPPO is trying to expand horizons and spread awareness among the youth to protect the environment, keep it clean and beautiful. OPPO feels that engaging youth in environmental protection creates direct impact on changing youth behaviours and attitudes. With the celebrities OPPO wants to leverage an influential voice to spread the message of “Beautiful City”across the audience.

“Beautiful City campaign is an initiative by OPPO to widen their focus on the society initiatives and create an impact on the society while doing their bit for city welfare. With this campaign we would like to reach out to the youth, educate them, spread awareness about how important it is to keep one’s city beautiful and clean as they are the future generation who will build a beautiful world. With such influential celebrities and NGOs coming together for this initiative, we feel our purpose to serve the society is getting close.“Said Mr. Will Yang, Brand Director, OPPO India.

The event began in Gurgaon with Ayushmann Khurrana meeting and greeting the youth, mostly students from the Vidya Integrated Development and others present during the event. He then went on to unveil the painting on the wall done by the kids from the NGO which gave a message to the nation of a SAFE and a Happy Diwali, and tried to spread the message of Protecting our Environment.

Similar events were held at Mumbai and Bangalore where the current heart throbs of youth Ms Parineeti Chopra and Ms Jacqueline Fernandez took the stage and spread similar messages.


OPPO also donated INR 2 lakh to 3 NGOs across the cities – VIDYA Integrated Development for Youth and Adults (Gurgaon), Doorstep School (Mumbai) and Parikrama Foundation (Bangalore) who are part of this initiative and work towards education of the less privileged children. Ayushmann Khurrana presented the cheque to VIDYA Integrated Development for Youth and Adults, Parineeti Chopra also made a contribution in Mumbai to Doorstep School and Jacqueline Fernandez contributed to the Parikrama Foundation in Bangalore.

Speaking on the occasion, Ayushmann Khurrana said, “It feels great to be associated with a social awareness activity and giving my contribution to the betterment of the society. OPPO is doing a great job with this initiative.”

Jacqueline Fernandez  also said that “It feels great to be doing my bit for the city. Amongst all the chaos in our lives, doing something to make the city beautiful gives me immense calm and peace! Thank you OPPO for the great opportunity!”

And Parineeti Chopra said that, “A beautiful city is the best possible gift for the residents of Mumbai and OPPO’s initiative will most definitely awaken and help people realise their responsibility of keeping their city clean.”

Ayushmann and Jacqueline also encouraged people to keep their cities beautiful by painting a graffiti wall in Gurgaon and Bangalore, whereas Parineeti encouraged fans by painting a School Van in Mumbai. Ayushmann also planted a tree in the school campus signifying the Green initiative by OPPO.

At Gurgaon, after the event Ayushmann had a lively media session too where he spoke about his love for environment, his love for music and also towards undertaking more social causes in the society. He also promised us to spread the words through his next ventures in movies and music albums to spread out the message of Clean and Beautiful Cities.
