A Grill Company is one of the first restaurants in Noida which offers live Barbeque right on your table along with a Molecular twist. I was awed by the spectacular settings as I entered AGC; it was simply awesome. Full marks to the designer and also to the management team for this. The restaurant is different from others; its simple, its elegant and its pleasant. Proper lighting, and well spaced out sitting arrangements takes one away from the ‘Hustle n bustle’ of the crowded streets outside.
They have a live grill and buffet which brings the twisted live barbecue concept along with the molecular food. Concentrating only on typical Indian desi food, Chef Pankaj, has tried to create fusion food with innovative use of molecular gastronomy. He aims to bring the fusion of live Barbecue and molecular food so that guests can enjoy grilling their own vegetarian and non-vegetarian barbecues on live grills embedded in their tables.
The outlet is on 2nd floor at Logix mall in Noida which houses Delhi NCR’s first IMAX. The aesthetic interiors with a medieval touch and the lively ambience of the restaurant are very refreshing to connect with the consumer base. The place is quite spacious with different sitting area setups. Excellent lighting set ups give the outlet a rich look and the Bollywood and Hollywood posters add to the beauty.
We were here for a review and on invitation of the restaurant. After doing a quick shoot of the interiors, I settled down and was served a Welcome Coffee Flavored Cotton Candy. The flavour was amazing and the candy melted in my mouth as soon as touched my tongue leaving behind a great coffee aroma.
We were soon treated to some Liquid Nitrogen cooking show right at our table. Palak Papdi Chaat, and Dahi Papdi with yogurt Spheres were prepared in front of us. I liked the Palak Chaat a lot, the Palak surely tasted amazing.
All this and they kept serving different mocktails – one by one. Roohafza Mozito and Cosmo Ball were served at first. The Roohafza Mozito was a refreshing drink. But I was quite disappointed by Cosmo Ball. I also tried Aam-panna Candy, and this was the best drink I have had in a long time. Aampanna in a Bunta Bottle and Candy Floss in a drink glass; you pour Aampanna on the candy, and magic happens, a great drink erupts and you say WOW!!! I also tried Strawberry Ice Cream Mocktail, a real deconstruction of Strawberry Ice Cream.
We now were served a Raj Kachori. A so-so dish, quite bland in taste, I would have preferred it slightly spicier. Then we were served a visual delight, Dahi Bhalla Sundae. It was a regular Dahi Bhalla, but frozen with liquid Nitrogen and the presentation was awesome. And during all this we kept on munching from the live Barbeque grills on our table; Paneer Tikkas, and Hara Bhara Tikkas was all that I could eat along with the various dips; namely burnt garlic, hajmola mayo, guacamole and roasted chilli tomato.
Another visual delight was served in form of Golgappas, with chutneys in syringes and five different types of water in test-tubes; namely, roohafza, shikanji, aampanna, green apple and blue moon. You must try this when at A Grill Company.
Soon we headed to the Buffet section for main course. The buffet at the restaurant offers an array of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. The Main Course has a number of mouth-watering dishes like Chanar Daal (A Bengali dish), and Gujrati Kadi besides Shahi Paneer, and many more veggie and non veggie dishes. Assorted breads were served right on my table and we relished each and every dish that we took on our plates.
The delicious lunch ended with, once again some superb tasty desserts; Sugar free Phirni, Brownies, Chocolate Coffee mousse, and Berry Custard. And yes that’s all friends as far as the food, drinks and desserts are concerned….
Mr Rohit Malhotra and Mr Parvesh, two of the co-owners added that they will not have a normal fixed menu – the menu will change every day of the week. There will be different kinds of combination of regional cuisines from all over India everyday in both the starters and the buffet section.
