New Menu at Kylin PREMIER, The Teppanyaki Grill

We recently went to try out the refreshing flavours and tantalizing dishes at Kylin Premier, Vasant Kunj from their exciting new menu.  Kylin Premier is one of Delhi’s favourite Pan Asian dining restaurants with live Teppanyaki Grill and Sushi Bar.

Kylin Premier in fact is a member of the famous Kylin family which started the culinary journey in 2005 in Vasant Vihar market. After the initial success, the brand launched Kylin Premier in Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj which now is one of the best fine dining destinations in Delhi.

With a live Teppanyaki grill offering mouth-watering dishes, dimsums and a unique mix of oriental favourites and innovative international dishes, it instantly captured the imagination of food enthusiasts all over Delhi.

The décor at Kylin Premier is both dramatic and spacious. We instantly were overpowered by the pleasing Oriental interiors. And it took us some time to come out of the awe and settle down to look around.

At Kylin Premier, the oriental food gets a new definition. Appetisers, soups and veggies and various kinds of meat tossed up with excellent curries, are some of the highlights of the elaborate menu at KP. And the multi-layered new menu is more elaborated than the regular one and is categorically divided into Japanese, Thai, and Chinese.

The best thing about the dishes in this menu is this that it serves dishes which are very different in taste than the oriental food that we are normally accustomed to, I mean the Desi Asian flavours.

The new menu offers inventive Asian fare, that offers a lot more variety for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians, like Spicy Salmon Roll – inside & outside salmon with cucumber, spicy mayo and crunchy flakes topping, Kylin Special Curry Dim Sum – water chestnut, broccoli & asparagus with shanghai chili, Thai Red Curry available in Veg/Chicken/Prawn, and a new selection of flavourful sushi rolls.

The new additions on the menu not only promise to charm the gourmand but ensure a happy experience for the less adventurous. Bold Asian flavours, hearty portions and innovative Asian food are the hallmarks of this new offering” says Mr. Saurabh Khanijo, MD Kylin on the launch of new menu.

Well, we started with a few drinks at the bar. We found the mock-tails section of the Bar menu somewhat limited. You see, most of the bars do not spend much time on designing their mock-tails menu, and we, the non-alcoholic drinkers are left dry and low. Kylin Premier also had limited choices, but we still loved the Fruit Punch and Peach flavoured Iced Tea which were quite refreshing.

The new menu is curated with extra lavishness with more than 30 new and enhanced dishes that are a perfect blend of comfort and innovation. The detailed menu is packed with delightful textures and exciting Asian flavours. Dishes, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian are presented to give an extraordinary experience of the cuisine that is commonly limited to just curry in India.

We started with a salad, Pomelo Salad with Tofu. And then we relished Wonton Soup (veggies in clear soup). Pomelo salad was excellent; it had a sweet flavour that made it a great salad.

Now was time for an exotic presentation, the Water Chestnut, Broccoli n Asparagus Shanghai Chilli Dimsum was served on our table. It was an exotic piece of culinary art, and tasted divine. It was one of the most authentic tastes that you find only while you are travelling through these Asian destinations.

Moving on to starters, we tried the Yasai Tempura and the Rice Paper Roll. Exotic, divine, outstanding… these were the only words that I could utter after eating the delicious Rice Paper Roll, flavoursome, crunchy shredded veggies inside rice outer crusts. Highly Recommended.

We now turned to the main course section and tried Lohan Veggies with Oyster Mushroom, Stir Fried Greens with roasted Garlic, Tofu in Thai Basil Sauce and Udon Noodles.

For vegetarian dishes, Oriental cuisine uses a lot of Tofu, and normally Tofu alone does not have any flavour of its own and hence it isn’t easy to cook. But the excellent work of the chefs here brought out the magic in the Tofu dishes with perfect blend of spices.

With all of our meals we always end them with something sweet and delicious. At Kylin Premier too, we finished our meal with Tub Tim Grob (rubies in coconut) and Thai Ice Cream Trio. Both of these desserts were awesomely delicious and left us awestruck.

Well, friends, we have tried to be as experimental as possible and enjoyed the authentic flavours that we were presented at Kylin Premier from their new menu. We hope that you too visit experiment and explore the same while being seated in the decorous ambience of one of the popular pan-asian restaurants in Delhi.
