What hotels are doing in Mumbai
IHG Hotels & Resorts are one of the first one to institute strict health and safety measures. And they slowly opened up their hotels after taking all precautionary steps and in this sequence; Holiday Inn Mumbai International Airport is going to reopen on 1st December 2020.
They have made arrangements for enhanced guest experiences by redefining cleanliness and supporting guests’ wellbeing throughout their stay as per the IHG Way of Clean standards and all applicable local regulations and health requirements. Using new, science-led protocols and service measures, partnering with industry leading experts Cleveland Clinic, Ecolab and Diversey, and the global IHG Clean Promise, the strengthened measures will give guests greater confidence, and assurance of their safe and comfortable stay with the hotel.

Enhancing IHG Way of Clean
IHG has a longstanding commitment to rigorous cleaning procedures. Launched in 2015, the IHG Way of Clean program was developed with Ecolab and Diversey, both world leaders in hygiene and cleaning technologies and services. This program is now being expanded with additional COVID-19 protocols and best practices – many of which are already in place – to reflect the advice of the World Health Organization, Centres for Disease Control & Prevention and local public health authorities in markets around the world.
Holiday Inn Mumbai International Airport will be welcoming guests back with the following measures under the IHG Clean Promise: mandatory Aarogya app installation for each guest entering the hotel, mask wearing, temperature checks, disinfected luggage, and maintaining physical distancing at all times will be strictly enforced.
Steps are also taken to reduce contact at check-in, touch less transactions, front-desk screens, foot-operated sanitizer stations, sanitized key cards, paperless checkout, contactless payment etc. All hard surfaces and fixtures will be disinfected and cleanliness audits of rooms will be conducted on regular basis. They will also implement upgraded laundry protocol, and make PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) mandatory for all staff while cleaning of rooms. Foot markings will be put on the floor and signage placed at all areas to maintain social distancing.
Also there will be new standards and service approach to buffets, banquets, room service, and catering. E-menus and contactless payments will be implemented and disposable cutlery & crockery will be used in guest rooms. For Banquets and Event management too, they will ensure that the gathering numbers are as per the government guidelines, tables & chairs will be disinfected during breaks in meetings / event. Strict food handling and services guidelines as Per ISO 22000 and IHG guidelines will be in force.
On-property, hotel teams have appointed Clean Champions to continue building the culture of clean. The champions focus on guests and colleagues as they navigate the new environment and help on-property teams to consistently deliver these elevated cleanliness standards.
